Hobgoblins in the newsroom?
We looked eagerly this morning to see how our daily newspaper would handle the story about Democratic gubernatorial candidate Deval Patrick endorsing of our wind farm would be played considering the oceans of newsprint they have lavished on the projects opponents. They've even offered us forty "occasional editorials" on the subject as well.
Alas we searched in vain for a story until our wife pointed out a tiny, four paragraph sidebar item by Kevin Dennehy.
Heck fellows, The Boston Globe which you always assure us is NOT our local daily newspaper ran TWO stories today on that subject of a dozen paragraphs each. The first story is by Stephanie Ebbert and the second by Glen Johnson.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines."
The proverbial wind farm train is leaving the station, and we hope our colleagues jump aboard before it's too late.
