The 3rd Annual "Spring is in the Air" Bird House Auction

This third annual auction benefits a great cause, the Sampson Fund
Sunday, March 19th from 3pm-6pm at the Wayside Inn in Chatham

The third annual Spring Is In The Air Bird House Auction, a fundraising benefit for The Sampson Fund for Veterinary Care will be held on Sunday, March 19 from 3-6 PM at the Wayside Inn in Chatham. The event will feature a live and silent auction of hand-painted and decorated bird houses donated by local and off-Cape artists, and imaginative community members who love and support animals. This year various items other than bird houses will be auctioned off. These include art works, quilts, wood carvings and more. Proceeds from the Auction will be used to help Cape Cod dogs and cats in need of critical veterinary care.

Since the mid-1980s, The Sampson Fund has provided financial assistance for sick or injured cats and dogs that need substantial veterinary care too costly for their owners to bear alone. The Fund works with committed and dedicated animal hospitals on Cape Cod and the Islands, including the Barnstable Animal Hospital, Brewster Veterinary Hospital, Lower Cape Veterinary Hospital, Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital, South Cape Veterinary Services and Dr. Michelle Jasny of Vineyard Haven.

These hospitals have contracted with the Fund to provide services at a reduced cost, of which a qualifying pet owner pays a small percentage. The Sampson Fund then pays all or a substantial portion of the remainder through monies allocated to the veterinarian.

The Fund also helps injured or sick strays. The Sampson Fund makes every effort to see that no needy cat or dog on Cape Cod and the Islands will be denied needed veterinary care or euthanized due solely to a lack of resources.

A $20 entrance fee to the Auction includes hors d'oeuvres and paddle. There will be a cash bar. The live auction will begin promptly at 4PM. Master Card & Visa will be accepted. The Wayside Inn is located on Main Street in Chatham (508-945-5550).  Click here to see some of the birdhouses available at this year's auction.
