Paid positions, including housing on Cape Cod
WELLFLEET - Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) is seeking qualified individuals for several full-time internships for its 2006 Summer Season. Positions, which include housing and a competitive weekly stipend, will be offered to students who are currently enrolled in (or have been accepted for study at) college theater programs. Students who are engaged in related fields of study will also be considered.
Internships begin mid May and continue through mid October. Students need not be available for the entire season--there is some flexibility with the duration of each position.

Interns are treated as part of the theater staff and have all the same responsibilities and expectations. Interns should expect to be engaged in a variety of theatrical endeavors:
WHAT provides young people with invaluable hands-on experience with planning, marketing, rehearsing and mounting theatrical productions.
Individuals should possess some knowledge of stage management and be able to assist in the rehearsal and production process. They should also be able to help the production manager build, load-in, load out, and paint sets and props. Some interns will be required to help prepare equipment, work the lighting and sound boards and assist with hanging lights and set pieces. Experience with sound design and the ability to run light and sound boards is also desired. Individuals should also have experience with costumes and props.
In addition to performing the primary technical responsibilities, interns should have adequate administrative and computer knowledge to be able to assist the director of Marketing and Development and the Box Office/House/Company Manager.
Housing is available for interns in WHATâ??s new actors house in rural Wellfleet. The house, near some of Cape Codâ??s most popular beaches, has two kitchens, four bathrooms, several decks and parking.
