Hiroshima Memorial Candlelight Vigil for Peace - August 6th at 8pm
Sponsored by the Yarmouth Friends (Quaker) Meeting
Sunday, August 6th, 2006, 8pm
The Yarmouth Friends (Quaker) Meeting has traditionally observed August 6th, Hiroshima Day, as a day to remember the tragic human cost of war and to re-commit ourselves to the cause of peace. During this time of continued warfare, we are acutely aware of the human loss and suffering which escalates daily. Our witness for peace is now more urgently needed than ever before. Please join us as we hold prayerful vigil for all victims of war and pray for an end to the violence which threatens our world.
The Yarmouth Friends invite you to join us for a Candlelight Vigil on the lawn at the Yarmouth Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse, 58 North Main Street, South Yarmouth, on Sunday evening, August 6th, at 8pm.
The silent vigil, lasting about an hour, will conclude with a brief period for sharing reflections.
Chairs are available for those who wish to sit. In case of inclement weather, the vigil will be held inside the Meetinghouse. For additional information, please call Chuck Micciche at 508-432-4757.

Also, there is small dirt road behind the burial ground in back of the Friends Schoolhouse; there are some parking spaces between the trees. Finally, there is a great deal of parking in the neighborhood behind the Meetinghouse; however, we would ask you to please park so that tires are not on the lawns of our neighbors.
