Toddler accidentally run over in West Barnstable

- A horrifying scene late this afternoon in West Barnstable after a father accidentally runs over his 2 year old son.

It happened about 5:15 PM in the 1000 block of Route 6A. The boy was rushed to Lombard field and Medflighted to a Boston hospital.

Crash snarls commute around rotary
Rotary crashBOURNE
- The afternoon commute ground to a crawl around the Bourne Rotary after this rollover crash.

The driver was attended to by State Police trooper and Bourne rescue. The injuries were not believed to be serious.

The crash is under investigation. Further details were not immediately available.

West Nile Virus discovered on Cape
HYANNIS - West Nile Virus has been detected in a mosquito tested in Hyannis Tuesday. Officials want the public to take appropriate precautions such as using repellent and avoiding unnecessary activities from dusk to dawn when mosquito activity is highest. Standing water should also be dumped out to keep mosquitoes away. Posted on 7/27 at 6:30 PM.

Beach search turns up nothing
Beach searchYARMOUTH
- Lifeguards and Firefighters began an extensive search of Gray's Beach after fears of a missing swimmer.

A pair of shoes and clothing found unattended prompted the search that included boats and divers.

After several hours nothing was found and nobody beach searchhas been reported missing.

The search was suspended pending further developments.

Four arrested for liquor theft in Dennis
DENNIS - Four people were arrested after being accused of stealing bottles of liquor from a closed bar at the Crazy Flamingo on Route 28 in Dennisport. Patrolman Christopher Hennigan spotted the suspects allegedly putting the bottles into the trunk of a car outside the establishment just before 1 AM. Arrested were 23-year old Brendan Walsh of Wakefield MA, 23-year old Jonathan Janiec of North Easton MA, 23-year old Francis Kennedy of Norwood, and 23-year old Timothy Stone of Billerica. They were all arraigned in Orleans District Court of charges of larceny from a building. Posted on 7/27 at 6:30 PM.

Fire damages Harwich office building
Harwich fireHARWICH - Fire damaged a Harwich office building this morning. Firefighters responding to a reported appliance fire about 7:20 AM fire found flames crawling up the outside of the building.

The fire was quickly knocked down and damage inside was minimal. No one was at work yet and no injuries were reported.
