There was a report two people may have been struck by lightning at the Mass Maritime Academy in Bourne, one person was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Numerous lightning strikes caused power surges and set off fire alarms and sent firefighters in several towns to possible fires but no serious damage was reported. Scattered power outages were also reported including parts of Hyannis. Torrential downpours flooded some roads for a time especially in the Mashpee area. Posted on 8/11 at 1:00 AM.
