Marine items recovered, man arrested in raid
MASHPEE - A recent investigation by Falmouth Police of stolen marine items led to the execution of a warrant at a Mashpee business. Falmouth, Mashpee and Barnstable Police along with the Falmouth Department of Natural Resources, Mass Environmental Police and State Police swarmed Boat Brokerage Inc. on Echo Road in Mashpee Thursday. Three boats and 5 boat motors were recovered along with global positioning system (GPS) units and other marine electronics. They are believed to have been stolen from the waters off the Cape and South Shore and have an estimated value of about $200.000. 57-year Michael Deliso of Marion was arrested for receiving stolen property over $250. He was held overnight on $10,000 bail pending arraignment in Falmouth District Court Friday. Police say more arrests are possible. Posted on 9/08 at 8:00 AM; updated on 9/08 at 4:00 PM.
One injured in Falmouth rollover
FALMOUTH - One person was taken to Falmouth Hospital after a rollover crash Thursday night. Rescuers responded to Old Barnstable Road about 10 PM to find a Jeep Grand Cherokee had struck a tree and rolled on its roof. 25-year old Kate Mowry's injuries do not appear life-threatening. Police believe speed was a factor and are continuing to investigate. Posted on 9/08 at 8:00 AM.
Golf club GM charged in larceny scheme
FALMOUTH - The general manager of the Falmouth Country Club is accused of stealing from the club. 26-year old Peter Barbuto was arrested after the club's operator Billy Casper Golf alerted police about missing receipts. An investigation reportedly showed three to five days of receipts were missing. Barbuto was also charged with possession of Class A according to a press release from Falmouth Police. Billy Casper Golf Regional Vice-President Brian O'Hare said in a press release "We are committing our full resources to Falmouth Country Club to resolve this matter and continue to serve the residents of Falmouth" Barbuto was due to be arraigned in Falmouth District Court. Yarmouth man arrested for drugs, illegal handgun
YARMOUTH - Members of the Yarmouth Police special response unit executed a search warrant about 8 AM Wednesday at the Castle Dawn Motel on Route 28 and recovered drugs and a handgun which led to the arrest of a local man. 29-year old Travis Grace was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana (subsequent offense), possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm with prior felony convictions, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of ammunition. Police confiscated 22.5 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, a scale, grinder and two cell phones and a 9mm handgun. Posted on 9/07 at 6:00 PM. YPD photo.
