Barnstable rollover crash with serous injury
BARNSTABLE - One man was seriously injured in a crash in Barnstable about midnight. A single car reportedly rolled over over at Attucks Lane and Independence Drive ejecting the driver. A Medflight helicopter responded to Barnstable Municipal Airport and flew 24-year old James Purtle of Marstons Mills  to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for treatment of lower extremity injuries. Falmouth man arrested on weapon & drug charges
FALMOUTH
- A 20-year old Falmouth man and his parents are in trouble with the law. According to the Cape Cod Times police acting on a tip raided their house Tuesday night and recovered an Uzi 9 MM semi-automatic rifle and a .380 semi-automatic pistol both with ammunition. Prosecutors reportedly said in court the serial numbers had been filed off. Zachery Lowe pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit, unattended firearm, and four counts of possession of class B & class D. His parents Gary and Karen Lowe will be summonsed for drug possession charges. Posted on 9/21 at 6:00 AM.

Cape woman accused of trying to cash stolen checks
BOSTON - A Mashpee woman was arrested by Boston Police on Tuesday. Officers were called to the Citizens Bank on Washington Street in Roxbury for a larceny in progress. 20-year old Britney Thomas was charged with uttering a forged instrument. Police also reportedly discovered Ms. Thomas to have several bags of marijuana and additionally charged her with possession of class D. Posted on 9/21 at 12:00 AM. 

Plane mishap at Barnstable Airport
HYANNIS - Fire crews were called to Barnstable Municipal Airport this afternoon after an Island Air plane ran into trouble.

The pilot was enroute from Nantucket when he reported a problem with the landing gear on the Cessna 402. Hyannis firefighters stood by as the plane landed.

Missing retarded man found
HYANNIS
- A search was underway Wednesday for a missing 58-year old man who suffers from mental disabilities. CapeAbilities a non-profit support organization for people with mental retardation reported Brad Priest had not been seen since he waiting for a bus to his job Tuesday morning. They were concerned he may have spent the stormy overnight outside. Storms set off fire alarms
HYANNIS
- Heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms set off several fire alarms in Hyannis after midnight. Firefighters responded to alarms at the Cape Crossroads Condos, Cape Cod Hospital, the Sheraton 4 Points hotel, and the Best Buy store at the Cape Cod Mall within an hour. Barnstable firefighters also responded to a possible lightning strike at a home on Powder Hill Road. No actual fires were reported. Posted on 9/20 at 4:30 AM.

Fatal drowning in Chilmark
CHILMARK
- Three swimmers reportedly ran into trouble in Chilmark on Marthas Vineyard around noon Tuesday. Details are sketchy but rescuers rushed to the ocean off South Road. Reports from the scene say the three were out of the water but a bystander was performing CPR on one of the swimmers, a woman. She was rushed to Marthas Vineyard Hospital where she later died. The surf conditions were described as moderate at the time possibly the result of the first swells coming in from distant hurricane Helene.
