Downed wires cause outage, force traffic detour
- More power problems on Cape Cod today. Sometime after 11 PM primary power lines came down on Corporation Road in Hyannis. Hyannis firefighters were called to standby while the wires burned in the street until NStar crews arrived. An estimated 90 customers in the area lost power. Traffic behind the Cape Cod Mall was rerouted until the problem was cleared. It's not clear if the rainy weather or last week's storm may have contributed to the wires coming down.Posted on 11/02 at 4:00 PM. Photo courtesy of R. Copley.
