Serious crash closes Route 25 off Cape

WAREHAM
- Route 25 westbound a major route off Cape was closed for some time after reports a forklift on a flatbed truck struck a bridge. It happened westbound at the Glen Charlie Road overpass sometime around 8:30 PM. Reports from the scene say the crash led to a collision involving approximately 10 cars. One victim 35-year old Donna Russell of East Falmouth was Medflighted to Brigham & Women's Hospital with serious injuries. Several other people were taken to Tobey Hospital. Two other crashes in the heavy traffic backup including a rollover where the Jaws of Life had to be used hampered efforts to get the road open. Woman scares off alleged robber
HYANNIS
- Police are looking for a white male who allegedly banged on a woman's car window and demanded money. The Times reports the woman was parked in a medical office lot off North Street between Bassett Lane and High School Road Exensuion around 5:20 PM Tuesday afternoon when the incident occured. The man did not show any weapon and fled when the woman laid on her car horn. He was last seen wearing a dark blue windbreaker and black knit cap along with dark glasses. Firefighters alarmed after smoke pours from Provincetown building
PROVINCETOWN
- Firefighters were called out after this scene was discovered in Provincetown. It looked a lot worse than it was-smoke pouring out the basement of the Cape Tip Self-Storage facility on Shankpainter Road just before 8 AM.

Firefighters determined the building's oil burner was plugged up. They secured the burner until a technician could arrive and make repairs. No one was injured and there was no damage to the building or any stored items. Posted on 12/19 at 5:30 PM. Photo by Tim Caldwell.
