Police investigate Sandwich crash that injured two
SANDWICH - Sandwich Police are investigating of weather or alcohol may have played a role in a two vehicle crash around 10 PM Sunday. The crash happened on Cotuit Road near Quaker Meetinghouse Road. Two people were reportedly injured, one of them was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. Further details were not immediately available. Posted on 1/14 at 11:00 PM. 

Fatal crash in Falmouth
FALMOUTH - One man was killed, three other people were injured, two seriously, in a crash Sunday evening in Falmouth. The crash happened sometime after 8:30 PM on Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 151) by the Nickeloden Cinema shuting down the road for sometime. Rescuers reportedly had to extricate some of the victims from the wreckage. A Medflight helicopter was requested but could not respond because of the rainy weather. Falmouth Police are investigating the crash. It appears a Ford Taurus driven by a New Bedford man now identified as 35-year old Jesse J. Ferro apparently tried to pass a vehicle but collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. Ferro was killed in the crash. The occupants of the other vehicle Th0mas and Jeanette Newton of East Falmouth were transferred to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Thomas Newton was listed in critical condition, Jeanette Newton was later upgraded to good condition. Serious crash in Mashpee
MASHPEE
- Mashpee Police are investigating a serious crash early Sunday morning on Route 130. The crash happened about 3:30 AM near the intersection of Pickeral Cove Road when a vehicle struck a utility pole. Rescuers used the Jaws of Life to free 20-year old Sean O'Neil of NY. Medflight was not available so the O'Neil was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital in critical condition. A Cape Wide News photographer responded to the scene but was denied access even after reportedly politely waiting for rescuers to finish work as requested. The crash comes six days after a fatal one in Sandwich and is continuing a series of tragic crashes along this stretch of road between Mashpee and Sandwich.
