Arrests in Ptown jewelry theft; Hyannis crashes; Ptown Jet-Ski accident; "Helpful" motorist causes serious Dennis crash

Overnight news briefs:
ORLEANS - Two people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a car vs bicycle on Main Street shortly before 7 AM. The bicyclist was taken with non life threatening injuries. The vehicle driver suffered an apparent medical condition and was also transported. Orleans Police are investigating... MASHPEE - A driver escaped injury after snapping a utility pole in Mashpee. It happened about 1 AM Tuesday on Pimlico Pond Road near John Ewer Road. Live wires were down and power failures were possible in the area. Pimlico Pond Road was closed for several hours while the pole was replaced. Mashpee Police are investigating... DENNIS - Firefighters responding to a reported house fire at 43 Regan Road about 4:30 AM Tuesday were relieved to find a small fire on a deck that was quickly extinguished with no damage to the house and no injuries. The cause is under investigation. 

Three charged in Ptown Jewelry smash & grab

- Three people have been charged in connection with the April 25th smash & grab at Christina's Jewelry in Provincetown. Provincetown Police say 44-year Anthony Rose of Plymouth, 27-year old Anthony Diaz of Hyannis and 28-year old Diane Guay of Hyannis, Rose and Guay were already in jail on unrelated charges. Diaz was arrested over the weekend. Police had released these pictures of subjects wanted in connection with the heist.

Sagamore  Bridge crash snarls traffic
- A collision between two vehicles headed opposite directions on the Sagamore Bridge about 2:30 PM Monday shut down 1 lane each way bringing traffic to a crawl for a time. Two children in one vehicle were taken to Jordan Hospital in Plymouth as a precaution. State Police are investigating the crash.

Three injured, 1 seriously in Hyannis crash

One person was seriously injured in this head-on on Yarmouth Rd in Hyannis.  Tim Caldwell
HYANNIS - Three people were injured, one seriously in a head on crash on the Yarmouth Road section of Willow Street by Ferndoc Street just after 2 PM. a Toyota Camry appeared to have hit a GM SUV head-on. Another vehicle could not avoid the collision and suffered minor damage. Barnstable Police are investigating the collision which closed the major artery from Outer Cape to Hyannis for about 45 minutes.

One injured in Hyannis crash

     A blue Buick sedan was broadsided by a gold Oldsmobile coupe on West Main St. in Hyannis.
HYANNIS - One person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a two vehicle collision on West Main Street.

One vehicle apparently broadsided another. The road was closed for about a half hour until the wreckage was cleared.

Barnstable Police are investigating. Further details were not immediately available.

Jet-Ski crash injures one seriously
PROVINCETOWN - One person was seriously injured in a Jet-Ski crash in Provincetown Harbor just after noon. Details are sketchy but reports say the victim was thrown after hitting a wave and may have hit his head on the Jet-Ski before hitting the water. The victim was picked up by a Coast Guard boat and brought to Macmillan Wharf where an ambulance transported him to Cape Cod Hospital. 

"Helpful" motorist causes serious crash in Dennis
Two car accident – Route 134 South Dennis – 9:30 AM.
DENNIS - At approximately 9:30 Am on Monday morning, July 2, a Chevy Blazer traveling north at 35 MPH on Route 134 in South Dennis collided with a Toyota Sienna minivan exiting the parking lot at Hall Oil.

The minivan had been waved out into traffic by a “helpful” motorist who was not aware of the approaching Blazer. The Blazer sustained heavy damage to the rear end and an occupant was transported to CCH by Yarmouth ambulance.

The minivan sustained front end damage but there was no apparent injury to the occupants. Traffic was heavily backed up on Route 134 in both directions.
