Shed fire makes for tense moments in Dennisport
DENNIS - A shed fire made for some anxious moments in Dennisport this morning. The shed at 284 Old Wharf Road was fully involved right next to a cottage when firefighters arrived shortly before 7 AM Wednesday. Firefighters evacauted the occupants of the cottage as a precaution but were able to keep the flames from spreading to the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two arrested after Ptown supermarket purse snatching

- The crowded Grand Union supermarket in Provincetown was the scene of an alleged purse snatching Tuesday evening. Sometime around 8 PM one man allegedly grabbed a backpack from an elderly female shopper, and according to witnesses, jumped into a waiting car and sped off. The victim was not injured. Apparently due to the one road in, one road out geography CWN mentioned in a recent story Provincetown Police spotted the vehicle a short time later along Shore Road (Route 6A) in Truro. Truro officer Nicholas Ambrosini spotted one of the suspects identified at 19-year old Cory Will of South Hadley on the beach and quickly arrested him. Only CWN cameras caught Sgt. Kyle Takakjian as he arrested the second suspect 20-year old Troy Delacruz also of South Hadley a short time later. Both suspects were charged with unarmed robbery of a person over 65. They are both scheduled for arraignment Thursday morning at Orleans District Court. Photos by Tim Caldwell

Brush fire threatens buildings in Harwich
Officials plead with public to leave fireworks to the pros
- Cape firefighters were kept busy a day before the big holiday with numerous grass/brush fires started by fireworks. One of the largest was in Harwich by the Belmont Condos.

At one point the fire grew to an area about 100x100 feet  and threatened some cabanas on the beach. One person was treated for smoke inhalation.

Orleans crash

ORLEANS - Police are investigating this crash between a Jeep and a Ford Windstar about 3:45 PM Tuesday. A third vehicle may also have been involved in the collision at Route 6A and Canal Road near Route 28 by Cooke's Seafood. At least one person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital. Further details were not immediately available.
