The montage above shows the police talking to friends and family next door as a Barnstable PD K-9 dog searches the woods nearby, the car hidden in brush and police walking up the driveway with hands on their weapons.

fiterichard250_402At 9 AM Thursday morning the Barnstable PD and the Centerville, Osterville, Marstons Mills Fire Department (COMM) responded to 473 Pine Street, Centerville, for a break and entry into a home deep into the woods.   A man with a restraining order against him had allegedly broken into a woman's home and assaulted her. She had to be transported to Cape Cod Hospital by COMM rescue.

The man escaped on foot, and family members next door gave BPD the info they needed. The K9 unit from Barnstable Police searched the nearby woods, but the man was long gone.  At 10:45 AM the BPD left the scene, and the man was still on the loose.

A BOLO (Be on the Lookout) was issued by BPD to look for a RICHARD FITE (on right), a 47 year-old white male, 5'10, 165 lb.s with balding gray hair for B&E, 3 counts of assault & battery,  attempted kidnapping and intimidation of a witness.  The Barnstable Police captured Fite about 8:30 PM at a friends house on East Main Street. Minor fender-bender slows traffic in West Dennis Center, sends one to hospital

WEST DENNIS – The Dennis Fire Department responded to a 12:50 PM call on Thursday afternoon for a minor fender-bender in West Dennis Center. A Ford Explorer struck the rear of Hyundai Tucson in the westbound lane of Route 28. While several occupants of the Hyundai refused treatment, one man was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.  

 

Man shot with pellet gun on Vineyard; neighbor charged
WEST TISBURY
- A man was reportedly accidentally shot with a pellet gun by his neighbor. West Tisbury Police accuse 35-year old Jason A. Bandini of shooting his neighbor in the neck. He reportedly claimed to be shooting at a bird but authorities believe he was target practicing on his neighbor's wind chimes on West Farm Road. The victim a North Reading Man was hit in the neck and taken to the hospital. Bandini faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
