Cell phone blamed for Harwich crash

Police say a driver talking on his cell phone caused this crash in Harwich.
HARWICH - Talking on the cell phone and not paying attention allegedly caused this three car crash on Route 137 at Cemetery Road about 6:45 PM.

At top right Harwich Fire Lt. Timothy Jacques takes down information from the driver identified as 18-year old Ryan Taylor of Holliston, MA who was driving the Toyota 4runner and is accused of causing the crash.

One person was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.

One injured in Hyannis crash

A sedan rear ended a pickup truck on Route 28 by the airport in Hyannis.
HYANNIS - At 1 PM this afternoon Barnstable Police and Hyannis Rescue responded to Route 28 between Airport Rotary and the Auto Zone Plaza across from Kent's Carpet Land for a 2 car rear end crash in which a Toyota Corolla headed toward the Airport Rotary hit the rear of a Ford pickup truck.

Traffic was tied up for 45 minutes while the the scene was cleared and Hyannis Rescue transported 1 person from the scene to CCH.

This t-bone motor vehicle accident occurred at Bearse's Way & Enterprise Road around 10: AM today. 

The Hyannis Fire Department and Barnstable Police Department responded. Traffic was tied up for around 45 minutes.

Bicyclist hit in Harwich

Police speak to a driver who was shaken up after striking a bicyclist in Harwich.
HARWICH - A female teenage driver reportedly struck a young woman on a bicycle at Route  39 at the rotary about 2:30 PM.

The bicyclist identified as 20-year old Natalia Sheshukova (right), a Bulgarian seasonal worker on the Cape was able to walk to the ambulance to be treated for minor cuts and abrasions.

Harwich Police are investigating and charges may be pending.

More Route 6 crashes in North Eastham
- More crashes to report on Route 6 in North Eastham. Four vehicles collided in front of the Seamen's Savings Bank about 4 PM in the same stretch of highway south of the Brackett Road lights that have seen at least three other crashes in the past week. No one was seriously injured. Eastham Police are investigating. About  a half hour later a vehicle blew a tire when it struck a curb on Route 6 and shortly after that a motorcycle and car collided at Route 6 and Wampum Lane. The cycle driver was treated and then taken to CCH by friends.

Fiery truck crash in Bourne

A truck crashed into a ditch and caught fire injuring the driver. 
BOURNE - One person was taken to Falmouth Hospital after a fiery crash in Bourne. About 2:30 PM a truck crashed into the woods on Route 28 opposite Portside Liquors. Photos from the scene appear to show the truck skidded into a ditch into some trees. A tire was ripped from the truck and a lawn mower appeared to have flown out of the bed. A small fire started in the truck but State Police were able to quickly knock it down. The driver was taken to Falmouth with what were believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries. The crash is under investigation.
