Mashpee crash; Hyannis hotel fire

Car vs Motorcycle on Cotuit Road in Mashpee
- One person was Medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital after a vehicle vs motorcycle crash in Mashpee late Sunday evening. The crash happened on Cotuit Road about 10:30 PM. The victim 28-year old William R. Stewart of Mashpee was reportedly thrown about 50 feet by the impact. The car driver 22-year old John K. Keleher of Falmouth was not injured. The crash is under investigation by Mashpee Police.

Dryer fire at Hyannis hotel
- A smoky fire broke out in the laundry room of the Cape Cod Inn on Main Street in Hyannis about 9 PM Sunday evening. Firefighters were able to remove the burning clothes and ventilate the smoke. No one was injured.

Attempted murder suspect arrested
- A man wanted for a stabbing at the TGI Friday's at the Cape Cod Mall was arrested Saturday in Bourne. 19-year old Julian Green was nabbed by Sgt. Sean Balcom and Detective Brian Guiney at the McDonalds by the Sagamore fly over. He'll be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday. Sgt. Sean Sweeney told CWN the break in the case came from surveillance on a Range Rover left at the stabbing scene and on an associate of Green's Jermain Taylor of Marstons Mills whome they had been watching for 6 months on suspicion of drug trafficking. On Friday police followed Taylor and 20-year old Rachel Dean to the Mall where she reportedly drove the Range Rover away. Police stopped both vehicles a short time later. Dean was charged with trafficking in cocaine and conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws. Taylor was charged with the same drug charges and operating after revocation. Police reportedly recovered cocaine and $17,000 in cash. Those arrests led police to Green in Bourne. The stabbing victim is in stable condition at CCH.

Drugs, gun found as police execute search warrant
- Barnstable and Yarmouth Police executed a search warrant Friday night  at a West Main Street home in Hyannis after a three month investigation into alleged drug activity. Barnstable Sgt. Sean Balcom, Detective Brian Guiney along with Yarmouth Detectives Charles Peterson and Russell Giammarco reportedly recovered 16 grams of cocaine, a loaded 9 mm handgun and $10,000 in cash accordcing to Sgt. Sean Sweeney. Police obtained an arrest warrant for the resident 24-year old Albert Guess and arrested him later Friday night. He reportedly had additional cocaine on his person. Guess is to be arraigned Monday in Barnstable District Court on charges of trafficking in cocaine and possession of a firearm without a permit. welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
