Driver seriously injured in Centerville crash
CENTERVILLE
- One person was seriously injured in a crash in Centerville Friday morning. The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. at Route 28 and Old Stage Road when a vehicle struck a tree. The victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash.

CWN Storm Team Coverage: Thunderstorms move across the Cape
CAPE COD
- A strong line of thunderstorms moved across the Cape late Thursday night and early Friday morning putting on quite a lightshow and causing several minutes of torrential downpours. Fire departments from Falmouth to Dennis were kept busy with alarms tripped off by apparent lightning strikes. No significant damage was reported. NStar crews were busy with several scattered power outages especially in the Hyannis area.

Vehicle vs guardrail on Route 6
WEST BARNSTABLE
- One person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a single vehicle crash on Route 6 in West Barnstable. The crash happened Thursday evening between exits 5-6 on the eastbound side. A vehicle driven by 27-year-old Halbert Hunter of Maryland reportedly struck a guardrail in the median. The crash is under investigation by State Police who are trying to determine if hydroplaning may have led to the crash.

Crash in West Harwich
HARWICH
- Firefighters were called to the scene of a rear-end collision on Route 28 in front of the West Harwich Post Office which caused heavy damage to an SUV about at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

No injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation by Harwich police.

Harwich Police investigate report of a Police Officer Impersonation
HARWICH
- On Tuesday, sometime between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m in the area of Depot Street and Great Western Road in North Harwich, an elderly women was stopped by a possible police impersonator.  A dark colored vehicle with an activated blue light on the dashboard caused the driver to pull over.

The person was described as a clean-cut male between 30 and 40 years of age with medium-length brown hair and wearing a dark-colored dress shirt.

The man obtained a license from the driver and asked her questions about a family member.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident on Depot Street (near the intersection of Great Western Road) in North Harwich is asked to contact Sgt. Kevin Considine at the Harwich Police Department at 508-430-7542, x121.

Sandwich man charged with rape 
SANDWICH
- A Sandwich man was arrested on a rape charge Wednesday, two days after an alleged sexual assault in East Sandwich was reported to police. James Gregory, 62, was also charged with intimidation of a witness, as was his sister, 51-year-old Carol Marie Smith, after the two reportedly followed the alleged victim to the Sandwich police station.
