- An automatic fire alarm system brought apparatus from Harwich and Dennis to this million-dollar home at Strandway - Mill Point, on Nantucket Sound Saturday afternoon.  

A boiler control box burned out causing the basement to fill with smoke.
 
Harwich Fire Capt. Kent Farrenkoph and  his men quickly brought the situation under control.

Body washes up on Craigville Beach
Apparent accidental canoing drowning


Early on Saturday morning, a body washed up on the beach in back of a home on Long Beach Road near Craigville Beach in Barnstable. Barnstable Police reported that a neighbor called them and they responded along with the State Police crime unit to in investigate.
 
A jogger reportedly found the body of 40-year-old Arthur "Carey" Day of Hyannis. He  apparently died as a result of a canoing accident according to Barnstable Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney. His death remains under investigation but it appears to be a drowning and foul play is not suspected.
