Thomas J. DeVesto of Cotuit joins WGBH Board of Overseers

Founder, chairman and CEO of Tivoli Audio LLC will serve a three year term on the board

Thomas J. DeVesto of Cotuit has been elected to WGBH?s Board of Overseers, President Jon Abbott recently announced.

The founder, chairman and CEO of Tivoli Audio LLC, DeVesto will serve a three-year term on the board, which works to strengthen and promote public appreciation for WGBH?s mission while providing resources and strategic counsel in specialized areas of need.

?We are delighted to welcome Tom DeVesto to WGBH?s Board of Overseers,? Abbott said. ?His long history of pioneering innovative strategies for manufacturing and marketing new media technologies will be invaluable as WGBH expands our efforts to use multimedia digital platforms to reach new audiences and fulfill our public service mission.?

Prior to founding Tivoli Audio in 2000, DeVesto was the co-founder, president and CEO of Cambridge SoundWorks, a company he started with Henry Kloss in 1988 and later brought public. He previously served as a consultant to ITT Corporation, and as senior vice president of sales and marketing with Kloss Corporation. From 1976 to 1978, he held various sales management positions in the international and domestic divisions of Advent Corporation, a major manufacturer of stereo components and large-screen TVs.

In addition to serving as chairman of Tivoli Audio?s board, DeVesto also serves on the board of the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
