1215072_route_134_long_shot_400SOUTH DENNIS – Intersections are proving dangerous in Dennis on Saturday as the second collision of the day in town occurred at the junction of Route 134 and Setucket Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. (See earlier, two vehicle collided at Lower County and Shad Hole in Dennisport below.) The South Dennis incident occurred in the southbound lane of busy Route 134 when the driver of a Ford Expedition slammed into a Toyota stopped in line at the traffic light.

The force of the collision sent the Toyota into a Honda Pilot in front of it. The Honda driver was able to move her vehicle from the roadway to a parking lot across the street. Dennis EMTs extracted the two occupants of the Toyota and transported them to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. Both the Honda and Toyota -- which received significant damage to the front and rear -- had to be hauled from the scene by Silver Cloud Towing. The Ford driver was cited by Dennis police for failure to use care in stopping.  (Story and photos by Kevin Morley/CWN)

A Chevy pickup was traveling east on Lower County while a Mitsubishi was headed south on Shad Hole.
DENNISPORT – Dry roads and good visibility were not enough to prevent a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lower County and Shad Hole Roads at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Dennis Police and Fire/Rescue responded to the scene where a Chevy pickup traveling east on Lower County had collided with a Mitsubishi Gallant entering from the south side of the intersection from Shad Hole.

The drivers, who were the sole occupants of each vehicle, initially refused treatment though the airbags in the car had deployed. About 20 minutes after the collision the driver of the Gallant, who had been sitting in a police cruiser prior to being driven home, suddenly required medical attention. A Dennis ambulance returned to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital with unknown injuries.   (Story and photos by Kevin Morley/CWN).
