Governor meets with local chambers
Group pledges to help Patrick achieve his legislative goals

Governor Deval L. Patrick met on Thursday, January 10th with the Executive Directors and Board members from the Local Cape Chambers of Commerce at the offices of the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce.

The Governor met with the Cape's business representatives to discuss ways that the local Chambers could work together with the Patrick administration to strengthen and diversify the Cape's economy.  Job creation was the main topic of conversation, but financial support for the local chambers' visitors centers was also discussed.

Further meeting planned in Boston 

Governor Patrick asked that the local business leaders keep an open mind about his casino gambling proposal.  The local chamber representatives in attendance pledged to work together with the Governor and the Cape's legislative delegation.

The 10 local chambers attending the meeting included; Yarmouth, Dennis, Hyannis, Falmouth, Canal Region, Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Eastham and Sandwich. Commissioner Lance Lambros also was in attendance representing Barnstable County.
