Cape Cod Foundation GALE Fund requests grant proposals

Proposals must be postmarked by March 14, 2008

YARMOUTHPORT - The Cape Cod Foundation is requesting proposals for grants from the Gay and Lesbian Equity Fund.

The fund aims to raise awareness of and generate support for issues affecting Cape Cod's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. "We look forward to receiving proposals from a wide variety of groups and organizations to better support this local community," said Lisa McNeill, director of programs for the Cape Cod Foundation. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $5,000; however, larger requests will be considered.

Since its inception 10 years ago, the GALE Fund has distributed approximately $160,000 to youth groups, senior citizens groups, and diversity programs in schools and community organizations.

All proposals must be postmarked no later than March 14, 2008. For more information about the GALE Fund guidelines, visit the Cape Cod Foundation website, www.capecodfoundation.org or call toll free, 800-947-2322.
