  National Grid crews spent Sunday trying to repair a leak in a main gas transmission line in Mashpee.
MASHPEE - National Grid crews worked overnight and continue to work Sunday to fix a leak in a main transmission line along Route 151 near Old Barnstable Road in Mashpee. Sources tell Cape Wide News some of the gas seeped into the nearby Mashpee High School which fortunately is closed but none the less put Mashpee firefighters on alert. CWN's Eric Tinglof is reporting construction crews seem to have two separate areas they are working at along Route 151. Tinglof adds the odor of gas in the air is still noticeable from time to time. National Grid is only saying there is no danger of explosion. although the cempany says they will have  a press release later Sunday afternoon.

Expensive crash in Falmouth

    Despite the damage the families in these SUVs escaped injury when they collided.
FALMOUTH - Just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening on southbound Route 28 (East Falmouth Highway) a Lexus SUV and a Porsche Cayenne stopped in traffic for the light at Davisville Road were struck from behind by an Audi Q7 SUV. Although both the Porsche and the Audi were occupied by families with children and both vehicles received some serious impact damage all drivers and passengers seemed to be uninjured and did not require medical attention. the sole female driver of the Lexus also was not injured with her vehicle receiving the least damage. Falmouth police were conducting an investigation of what was a very costly property damage crash.

Children uninjured after Falmouth rear-ender

    A mother and several children escaped injury after being rear-ended in Falmouth.
FALMOUTH - Just before noon Sunday on East Falmouth Highway at Shorewood Dr in East Falmouth a Ford Mustang struck the Rear of a Honda Civic sedan. Although the Honda sustained considerable rear end damage the several children and the Female driver declined transport after being checked by Falmouth Fire Rescue. The young male driver of the Mustang also declined any medical attention. The crash is being investigated by Falmouth Police.
