100-year-old willow tree hit by lightning

100-year-old willow tree in Cotuit is battered but still standing this morning

8-26-08standin_480COTUIT - A 100-year-old willow tree in front of the Kettle-Ho on School Street, was struck by lightning and a major limb fell on the house below at 8:30 p.m. during aheavy thunderstorm Monday.

But it looked a lot worse last night

The scene on the right was shot this morning, but the scene below on left was shot in the dark last night when it appeared that this majestic, old tree may have been destroyed.
