Sandwich Office Building Fire

20080826_7_405SANDWICH - Just after 4 a.m. Tuesday morning Sandwich Fire was called to 88 Route 6A for a fire in the Tudor Hill House, a large colonial home that houses several law offices.

Flames were visible when units arrived and help was quickly requested from West Barnstable, Bourne, Mashpee, Otis and COMM Fire Departments. The fire was brought under control and "mop up" began nearly four hours later.

Fire officials thought a lightning strike the night before caused a smoldering fire in the attic that eventually spread and became a major blaze.

The scene is currently under investigation by State Police and the State Fire Marshal.
