Town of Chatham announces temporary relocation of two departments due to construction

CHATHAM - As part of the construction of the Police Department and Town Office Annex project, the departments of Community Development and Health and Environment will be temporarily relocated to the following addresses:

Chatham town offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2009 in observation of the July 4th holiday. Shellfish licenses, beach stickers and transfer station beach stickers will be available prior to that day. The permit office on George Ryder Road will also be open from 8am-5pm on Thursday, July 2, 2009.

  • Community Development Department: 595 Main Street/"Gallery Building", 508-945-5160. Building, Plumbing, Electrical, Planning, Zoning, HBDC, Historical Commission
  • Health and Environment Department: 1455 Main Street/"Capt. Haskell Rose House", 508-945-5160. Conservation, Health

The Permit Department will remain at 283 George Ryder Road.

Staff contact information including phone numbers, mail and email addresses will remain unchanged during the temporary relocation period.  Three parking spaces, indicated by signs, in the High Wheeler Square parking lot will be reserved for visitors to the Community Development Department.

This temporary relocation is anticipated to last for two years.
