Nauset Estuary re-opened for shellfishing

Estuary re-opened at sunrise Friday

The Nauset Estuary was re-opened Friday morning, June 18, 2009 at  sunrise from the taking of all species of shellfish with the exception of Moon Snails.

According the Town of Eastham's Natural Resources Department, Salt Pond will remain closed until further notice.

Other areas on Cape Cod Bay remain open with the exception of those areas normally classified as contaminated including Rock Harbor, Boat Meadow Creek, Bee's River Creek, Hatches Creek and Abelino's Creek.
