Yarmouth Library to resume Sunday hours; Wellfleet public hearing on animal control; Eastham firefighter certified child passenger safety tech; Orleans transfer station closed Labor Day

Sunday hours to begin again on September 13th

Beginning Sunday, September 13, 2009, the Yarmouth Town Library will again be open on Sunday afternoons at the South Yarmouth location.

Sunday hours are from 12 to 4pm. Winter hours are in effect from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

The South Yarmouth Library is located at 312 Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.

Note: both the South and West Yarmouth branches will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2009.

Wellfleet public hearing on Animal Control Bylaws September 8th

The Wellfleet Board of Selectmen have scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 7:30pm. The adoption of Animal Control Bylaws will be discussed at the hearing.

The Animal Control Bylaws draft (June 2009) is available as a PDF here. Copies are also available at the Town Hall.

The hearing will be held in the meeting room of the Wellfleet Public Library at 55 West Main Street.

Eastham firefighter is a certified child passenger safety tech

Firefighter/paramedic Lisa Albino is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.   She has completed an extensive course that has certified her in installing child car seats. Firefighter/paramedic Albino is available to:

  • Check for expirations on car seats
  • Check for recalls Ensure the seat is installed properly in your car
  • Make sure your child is in the seat properly
  • Information on what kind of seat best fits your child
  • Offer suggestions about after market products

It is requested that an appointment be made so that the proper amount of time and information is available.

Orleans transfer station closed Labor Day

The Town of Orleans has announced that the transfer station will be closed on Labor Day, next Monday, September 7, 2009.

Normal hours will resume the next day at 7:30am.
