VIDEO: Ceiling collapse injures two workers at Massachusetts Military Reservation

One worker transported to Falmouth Hospital, the other MedFlighted to Boston

Two civilian construction workers were injured while renovating Building 5242 on the Massachusetts Military Reservation earlier this morning. The building is located on the Camp Edwards section of the Cape Cod military reservation.

The building, a vacant barracks facility, was being renovated by Contractor Network, Inc. The workers were dismantling a suspended concrete lath and plaster ceiling in a first-floor bathroom when a portion fell on them.

The Massachusetts Military Reservation Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, and Mashpee Fire Department responded to the incident. One civilian worker was transported to Falmouth Hospital. The other worker was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital by medical helicopter.

The incident  is under investigation by the Massachusetts National Guard.
