Corps to open Sagamore Bridge lanes through Mother's Day

All four lanes to open this Thursday through Monday

It just got a little easier to visit Mom this Mother's Day. On Tuesday, the US Army Corps of Engineers, New England District announced that they will be opening all four lanes of traffic on the Sagamore Bridge beginning Thursday, May 6, 2010.

The traffic restrictions will be lifted temporarily on Wednesday, May 5. The four lanes will open on Thursday morning (sooner if the work is completed early) and remain open until 7 a.m. on Monday, May 10th.

On Monday, May 10th, weather permitting, one southbound lane (onto the Cape) will be closed for curb work. Curb work will take place Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. until mid-May when the Sagamore Bridge project will be completed.

Updated signage will be in place on the bridge approach and information is also available on the USACE's website.
