Brewster businessman arrested on lewd conduct charge

Allegedly exposed himself to female employee

BREWSTER –Armed with an arrest warrant, Brewster Police took Eric Barber, 41, of Brewster, into custody on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.  This comes at the conclusion of an investigation into a case of workplace sexual harassment. 

During the course of the investigation, police learned that Barber, while running his business, Brewster Wine Cellar, allegedly exposed himself to one of his female employees, made several sexual advances towards her, and on at least one occasion, forced her to retrieve her week's pay from his pants pocket.

Barber has been charged with Open and Gross Lewdness, Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person over Age 14, Assault & Battery and Accosting/Annoying a Person of the Opposite Sex.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, September 8, 2010, in Orleans District Court.
