Executive Director of Dennis Chamber appointed to MA Workforce Investment Board

Spyro Mitrokostas to serve on state board

The Dennis Chamber of Commerce would like to announce the appointment of Spyro Mitrokostas, Executive Director of the Dennis Chamber of Commerce, to the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board.

The Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board (MWIB) advises the governor on continuously improving the state’s workforce development system. The board is comprised of private sector employers, agency heads, legislators and representatives from state and local workforce development entities. The governor serves as co-chair of the MWIB.

The 65 members of MWIB develop strategies that guide the Commonwealth’s efforts in ensuring workers have the skills they need to fill the jobs businesses create. Additionally, there are 16 local Workforce Investment Boards in Massachusetts that oversee workforce development activities in their areas.
