Home occupant seriously injured & burned,
Firefighter has ankle injury

WAREHAM - Paramedics transport a victim of a house fire to an awaiting Medflight helicopter in Wareham, Massachusetts Saturday (01-15-11) morning around 10:30 AM following a house fire.

According to emergency broadcast reports, the occupant of the house was seriously injured and burned in the house fire on Sandwich Road in Wareham. The victim, believed to be in his 50s, was flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

A firefighter was also injured at the fire scene with a reported ankle injury. The occupant's home was destroyed in the fast moving fire . Firefighters were hampered in battling the fire as the home and the front lawn contained various household items stacked high inside and outside of the house.
