One dead, one Injured in double Mansfield shooting

Second man shot, wounds not life-threatening

Mansfield - The Bristol County District Attorney's office reports that one man is dead and another wounded in a double shooting in Mansfield Saturday morning.

According to Gregg Miliote of the DA's office police responded to 911 calls at about 3:42 a.m. at the Village at Mansfield Depot off Francis Avenue fwhen there were reports of shots being fired.

On arrival the police found two men with gunshot wounds. Miliote said Aderito Cardoso, 22, of Brockton, was taken by medical helicopter to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston where he died of his injuries.

He said the injuries of the second man were non-life threatening. His name was not released. The Mansfield police department, state police detectives assigned to the Bristol District Attorney's office and homicide unit prosecutors were investigating the circumstances surrounding the shootings.
