The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster announced their CCMNH Volunteer Field Guide and Interpreter Training Program will begin on March 22, 2011. Training will be held on Tuesdays from March 22 to April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday, April 2, 9 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
To register, call the Museum at 508-896-3867.
The training program is for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer naturalist and serving as an outside interpreter (field guide) or an inside interpreter (museum docent). The training will provide participants with a background in the ecosystems encountered on the CCMNH trails, the identification and relationships of the plants and animals in these ecosystems, and the geology and history of Stony Brook Valley in particular and Cape Cod in general.
The CCMNH Volunteer Field Guide and Interpreter Training Program is a special opportunity to learn about our unique Cape Cod environment and to share our knowledge with residents and visitors.
