League of Women Voters of Falmouth to sponsor "How to Run for Public Office" workshop March 10th

Wanted: candidates for Falmouth public office

On Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 7:30 pm in the Hermann Foundation Room at the Falmouth Public Library, the League of Women Voters of Falmouth will sponsor a workshop - "How to Run for Public Office."  All citizens of Falmouth interested in becoming candidates for selectman, elective and volunteer town committees, and town meeting members from their own precincts are urged to attend.

Presenters will include Paul Niedzwiecki of the Cape Cod Commission, former selectman Virginia Valiela,  School Committee member Judy Fenwick, Finance Committee member Stephen Fassett, and Susan Shephard, local campaign director regarding the mechanics of running for office and the realities of serving in office. Several of the panelists are or have been town meeting members as well. They will provide indispensable information and  outline the responsibilities that potential candidates need to know before making a commitment to run for office.

Be one of the winners in the next election!

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization which does not endorse candidates for public office.  Membership is open to men and women over 18 years of age.
