Occupy Cape Cod event scheduled this Friday in Hyannis

Local followers of Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Boston are planning an Occupy Cape Cod event on Friday. The gathering is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, October 14 on the Hyannis Green, on Main Street.

For information on the event, visit Facebook and #occupycapecod on Twitter.

Occupy Falmouth began last Saturday with a group of 37 gathering in front of the Bank of America on Main Street in Falmouth. The Falmouth group is expected to continue their efforts each weekday at 5pm and Saturday at 10am. It is expected that other "Occupy" gatherings will pop up across the Cape.

Occupytogether.org is an unofficial meeting "hub" for all the individual groups springing up across the country. The website lists five towns on the Cape (Falmouth, Harwich, Eastham, Proivncetown and Plymouth) with independent occupy organizations.  In all, 25 Cape Codders are currently registered to "occupy".
