Dragonfly Mosquito Control launches new business in Plymouth

Company offers natural solutions to insect problems

Dragonfly Mosquito Control, a provider of mosquito control systems for residences and businesses, has opened their doors at 204 Court St. in Plymouth.

The company provides barrier type systems and misting systems that use plant-based insecticides to control and eliminate dangerous mosquitoes, ticks and biting insects for an entire season. Dragonfly Mosquito Control also offers conventional barrier spraying that can be applied before a wedding, a backyard party or other outdoor event on an as-needed basis.

“With the predicted surge in mosquito and tick populations this year, and the budgets for municipal mosquito control decreasing, its more imperative than ever for home and business owners to take the matter into their own hands.  Our services prevent outbreaks of lyme disease, EEE and West Nile, while keeping outdoor space comfortable for use,” Michael Cochrane, Dragonfly’s owner, said.

According to the latest statistics from the Center for Disease Control, the number of cases of lyme disease in Massachusetts went from 2,336 in 2005, to 4,109 in 2009, Plymouth County is again predicted for moderate to high incidents of the EEE virus, a rare but deadly disease transmitted through mosquitoes.
