Motorcyclist seriously injured in Otis Rotary accident Saturday

MedFlight helicopter requested, lands at scene

Rotary closed for half hour to clear it for helicopter landing

BOURNE - A motorcyclist was seriously injured when he crashed in the Otis Rotary in Bourne around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Bourne and State police responded to the scene and requested a MedFlight helicopter. Authorities closed the rotary to traffic for a half hour in anticipation of the helicopter's landing.

The unidentified motorcyclist was transported to a Boston area hospital with reportedly serious injuries.

It is unclear if the motorcycle was struck by another vehicle in the rotary. If so, the driver of that vehicle did not stay at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident.
