More roadwork on Route 6 this week

State hopes to have it finished by Memorial Day Weekend

Last week the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced more road work on Route 6.  Cable guardrail installation was slated to begin Monday, but was postponed until Tuesday due to rain. The guardrail work will be done in the median between Exits 2 and 4 westbound.

Motorists should expect delays as traffic is restricted to one lane in work areas.

MassDOT is planning to have the work completed by the start of the Cape's vacation season Memorial Day Weekend.

Traffic delays are further compounded by ongoing work on the Sagamore Bridge and reconfiguration work on the westbound Exit 2 ramp of Route 6.
