  • Kalmar Nyckel Returns to ProvincetownThe Kalmar Nyckel, returns to Provincetown on July 24th. Guests are invited to haul lines, set sails and enjoy tales of the original Kalmar Nyckel.   • Capturing the Cape - Photography Workshop 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Whether your passion lies in landscape, birds, insects or environmental portraits, come learn the technical skills that will let you turn off the auto mode on your camera and take control of your photographs.   • Wild Arts and Ecology 2012 - Old Audubon Had a Farm 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Explore! Investigate! Create! Children explore field science, observing, questioning, experimenting, and using real scientific tools. Inspired by their discoveries, they let their imaginations run wild through building, sculpting, printmaking, painting and countless other creative experiences. Old Audubon had a Farm - Have you ever worked on a farm before? Well now is your chance. Come work on our own organic garden, and see how we can grow our own food. Our sheep will need tending to as well, and you can see what you can do with wool! July 30 through August 3, 9am -12pm. Suitable for children 6 to 11. Cost: Children $150 members; $175 non-members.   • Free Watermelon and Seed Spitting Contest 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM. Saint Aubin Nurseries on Rt 6A in Eastham is celebrating National Watermelon Day with a little fun for families!   • Feathered Friends Walk 9:30 AM- 11:30 AM. Join us on a special sanctuary walk for young birders. What can we learn about birds from their shapes and colors, and favorite places and activities? We'll start at the feeders, then walk through the woodlands and stop at the freshwater pond and salt marsh. Great for young birders at all levels, ages 6 and older.   • “Pinocchio” presented by KID-BITS Cape Playhouse Theatre for Kids 9:30 AM & 11:30 AM What could be more fun than a summer filled with magic, puppets, stories, dance and song?   • Highland Cape Cod Lighthouse Tour10:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Tour Highland Lighthouse, daily from 10am to 5:30pm, May 19 through mid October. Gift shop closes at 6pm. Admission is $4 per person, all ages. There is a 48 inch height requirement for all children. Highland Lighthouse (North Truro)

  • Barnstable County 4-H Coastal Explorer 10:00 AM- 3:00 PM. The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents the Barnstable County 4-H Coastal Explorer July 20, August 3 & 10 in the Museum parking lot from 10 am-3 pm. Free with Museum admission. This extraordinary 31-foot custom-built motor coach, complete with state-of-the-art equipment and displays, provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about Cape Cod's coastal environment. The vehicle is handicapped-accessible. On board you will find: saltwater aquariums with live animals, computer and interactive games, TV/VCR for viewing marine life videos, blue shark and dolphin models displaying both external and internal anatomy, hands-on exhibits.   • Fish Printing 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Bring home the perfect remembrance of your time on Cape Cod: a fish print! We'll practice the traditional Japanese art of gyotaku as we paint and then print a real fish for your craft collection. You may drop in anytime during the specified times above.   • Seashore Ramble 2:00 PM- 4:30 PM. Explore the beach at low tide with a friendly naturalist. Our walk to the beach will take us through five different sanctuary habitats, and we’ll use dip nets and magnifiers to search for swimming, flying, and burrowing wildlife along the way. Come see tomorrow's stars sing and dance their hearts out in the Dramafun production of Fame Jr. From the hit motion pictures, television series, and international stage success, FAME is nothing short of a global phenomenon.  Set during the last years of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street (1980-1984), FAME JR. is the bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work.   • Tour Race Point Lighthouse10:00 AM - 02:00 PM. Open for tours first and third Saturday of the month. Touring season will be suspended if the federally-protected Piping Plovers nest and block access to the lighthouse. Once Plover chicks fledge, tours will resume.
