Keating, Sheldon to have two debates in 9th District Congressional race
First debate this Wednesday in Duxbury, second Nov. 2 in Harwich
Congressman Bill Keating (D) of Bourne and his Republican challenger Christopher Sheldon (R) of Plymouth will hold the first of two public debates for the new 9th District Wednesday night in Duxbury on October 10, and a second public debate will be held November 2 in Harwich at Harwich High School.
Keating will also participate in two media forums, both on Thursday, October 18. Those forums will be on Fox TV that day, then on WATD-FM at 7 p.m.
They are both candidates in the new 9th District.
At present Bill Keating represents the 10th District, which includes the South Shore plus the Cape and Islands.
Because Massachusetts lost a seat in the 2010 census, the State Legislature was required to eliminate the 10th and redraw a new and larger 9th District which includes more towns along the South Coast including Wareham, New Bedford and part of Fall River which were formerly of Barney Frank's 4h. Congressional District.
