Governor Romney is multiple choice!
By Richard Bartlett
Back when Romney sought Kennedy's senate seat the perennial abortion question became a focal point once again. Romney would earnestly claim to be pro-life before some groups, then before others would endorse the pro-choice position. Sound familiar?
Senator Kennedy was asked if he believed he was facing someone who was pro-choice. "No," he replied, "Governor Romney is multiple choice!"
It is bewildering to watch Romney still doing his multiple choice routine as a presidential candidate, this time on the full spectrum of domestic and diplomatic issues. If you make a list of the issues that are important to you it is easy to find that candidate Romney is in total agreement with you. But you could just as surely find that you and he are diametrically opposed on those same questions.
So a vote for him is a shot in the dark. No one knows how a President Romney would use the authority of the office. You don't know, I don't know. Nobody knows. The country would be getting a surprise package. Four years of uncertainty would be a very grim prospect.
