Falmouth man arrested, charged with child pornography possession

Computers allegedly containing child pornography seized at suspect's home

Peter Canavin. CCCU/FPD booking photo.FALMOUTH - A 38-year-old Falmouth man was arrested Wednesday and charged with child pornography possession. According to a release from the Cape Cod Computer Crime Unit, CCCU was instrumental in an ICAC Task Force (Internet Crimes Against Children) investigation that led to a search warrant for the home of Peter Canavin.

CCCU and Falmouth police executed the warrant at Canavin's home and placed him under arrest. According to CCCU, several items, including computers allegedly containing child pornography, were seized and removed from Canavin's residence.

Cananvin was booked at the Falmouth Police Station, then transported to Falmouth District Court to be arraigned. He faces charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

The Cape Cod Computer Crime Unit is made up of officers from the Massachusetts State Police, the Barnstable Sheriff's Office and the Barnstable Police Department.
