Dennis voters encouraged to bring food donations to the polls

Dennis family plans food drive for Election Day

The Carey Family of Dennis will hold a food drive tomorrow, Election Day. The couple and their children will be collecting food donations at the polls in Dennis.  All Dennis voters are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation with them when they head to the polls.

“We see a need in our community, we’re grateful for what we have, and we’re just trying to do our part to help families,” Christina Carey recently told the Register in an article the weekly did on the family's efforts.

Donations will be accepted at all Yarmouth polling locations. All donations will directly benefit children in the Dennis-Yarmouth School District.

The donations will be used to stock family food pantries in two Dennis schools--Ezra Baker and Wixon Middle School. Donations of canned tuna and chicken, pasta, sauce, peanut butter, jelly, fruit cups, cereal, juice boxes and such are needed most.

Dennis polling locations are here:

  • Precinct 1: Carleton Hall, 1006 Old Bass River Road, Dennis
  • Precinct 2: Dennis Senior Center, 1045 Route 134, South Dennis
  • Precinct 3: Dennis Public Library, 5 Hall St., Dennisport
  • Precinct 4: West Dennis Graded School, 67 School St., West Dennis
