Letter: Passing gun laws is one thing--enforcing them is quite another

If we pass a law, we must enforce it

To the Editor:

After reading reports almost every day about people being arrested for illegal possession of guns, it makes me ask the question of what ever happened to the law passed in Massachusetts that says one year mandatory jail time for this offense.

If we are going to pass the strict gun laws how about enforcing them to the highest degree?

Can someone in the know explain this to me without a lot of spin?
