Wellfleet Beachcomber beats own fundraising record in 2012

Money raised for charities up over 2011

The Beachcomber recently announced that they beat their own 2011 fundraising record in 2012.  In 2012, the Beachcomber sponsored, raised and or donated over $146,000 to local, regional and national charities--a $46,000 increase over their 2011 fundraising efforts.

During 2012, the Beachcomber held the 3rd annual Clam Jam Pan Mass Fundraiser and Eastham Elementary Fish Fry Fundraiser in June and the 20th annual Beachcomber Open Charity Golf Tournament in September.  Team Beachcomber also participated in the Pan Mass Challenge in August.  The Beachcomber also donated several gift certificates for auctions for a variety of Outer Cape organizations.

"Since the Beachcomber opened in 1978, we have been blessed with wonderful staff, loyal customers and a supportive community. We believe it is important for us to pay this positive energy forward and so we always include some kind of fundraising effort into our seasonal schedule. With the economy being as it is, we did not expect an increase in money raised this year, but once again, the results of our efforts far exceeded our expectations. Now we have a new benchmark to beat in 2013," said owner Todd LeBart.

The popular Cahoon Hollow Beach restaurant, club and watering hole is open seasonally between late May and Labor Day.
