Obama vs. Rubio last night

Always lead with the dumbest part of the story
Rubio takes a water break during the GOP response to Obama's State of the Union speech last night.

GOP gaffe, Minimum wage increase, Middle Class help

RUBIO PAUSES FOR A SIP: Marco Rubio gave a 2,600-odd word response to President Obama's State of the Union address last evening.

Unfortunately for him, the listeners didn't hear any of them because they were too busy laughing at him as he paused to grab a quick drink of water.

Take a minute and have yourself a nice long laugh at super thirsty Sen. Rubio's State of the Union response gaffe. Now that that's over with, read this Fair and Balanced headline for the text of his response. Good, now that we're even on the Rubio thing, let's get to what the President said last night.

HEARD THIS SOMEWHERE: President Obama called for assistance for the middle class in his address last night. He mentioned that it's "our generation's task" to fix this mess and pushed for early education and some other really familiar sounding proposals. So familiar, in fact, I think the Axelrod/Patrick/White House conference call might have been a really good one this year.

WAGE GAME: Obama wants to raise the federal minimum wage to $9 an hour, which might not sound like a ton here in Massachusetts, but imagine what that would get you in Mississippi. Seriously, have you looked at Jackson, MS Craigslist apartments?
