Each year, Home Instead Senior Care honors elders in the community who give their time to local organizations through their Salute to Senior Service.
Seniors from all over the country have been nominated and are eligible to win on both a state and national level. Eligible seniors are over 65 and give a minimum of 15 hours per month to their favorite cause or organization, according to a release from Home Instead.
Online voting is taking place now through Tuesday, April 30, 2013. A panel of senior care experts will choose the national winner from the state winners.
Home Instead, Inc. will donate $500 to the charity of choice for each state winner and $5,000 to the charity chosen by the national winner.
State winners will be announced on June 9, 2013 and national winners will be announced on June 30, 2013. Nominees and their stories were submitted earlier this year.
Community members are encouraged to vote for their favorite senior online at SaluteToSeniorService.com.
