BELMONT - The long-gone 71-year-old founder of the Falmouth Academy, Dr. Richard Haugh has been on the lam for twenty years.
His fellow founders at the school say he never had anything to do with the school after he and others founded it.
After helping to start the school in 36 years ago he left the Cape and moved to Belmont where he was arrested for child rape, made bond and has been on the run for the last two decades.
The State Police hope putting him on the current Most Wanted list will result in his apprehension.

Dr. RICHARD S. HAUGH WANTED FOR RAPE of a CHILD (2 counts), Indecent A&B on a Child Under 14 (2 counts), Assault to Rape a Child & Obscene Matter to a Minor
He is wanted by the Belmont Police Department. Dr. Richard S. Haugh, an accomplished author, publisher and academic, is wanted by the Belmont Police Department for numerous sexual offenses against a female child. In 1992, Haugh was arrested as he left his residence armed with a licensed .25 caliber handgun.
He was charged and subsequently indicted by a Middlesex Superior Court Grand Jury for 2 counts of Rape of a Child, 2 counts of Indecent A&B on a Child Under 14, Assault to Rape a Child and Disseminating Obscene Matter to a Minor. Dr. Haugh did not appear for his August 12, 1992 trial and remains at large.
Warrant #: 9281CR000082 was issued out of Middlesex Superior Court for the arrest of Haugh.
